Last week, the concrete trucks came to pour our pad.
This is wildly exciting news.
I am ecstatic.
First of all, the fact that they made it through the rain and the mud and the ruined dirt roads after all the rain we’ve had is a miracle. Second, we have been trying to get this pad poured for more than a year.
That’s right. A year.
Has anyone ever told you construction is an impossibly long process?
Because it’s an impossibly long process.
It is still amazing to me that we have a floor in our house. Thankfully, this should be the last enormous project that involves a lot of waiting and frustration in our build. It’s held us up considerably in the last year, but now we have as much work to do as we can handle, and (hopefully) things will roll along as quickly as we can manage.
I’m still hoping to move in by the end of the year.
Fingers crossed, right?
