I Graduated!

Did I mention that I graduated?

Because I graduated.

Woot Woot!

I know, it was only eight months, but I am going to celebrate anyway. I am not a ‘college’ sort of person, and navigating classes three times a week when I lived two hours away from the school was hard, y’all. I missed my husband, I missed my baby, and I missed not getting up at 4:45 AM most mornings so that I could leave the house by 6:15.

I’ll tell you a secret, though.

As much as we dealt with so much stress in this season, I loved this school. I loved learning to edit audio, and discovered that my creativity could extend so much further than I thought it could. I loved learning the backside of radio and TV production, and yes, I even learned to love leading group projects.

Okay, that last part is partially a lie.

But only partially.

I didn’t expect the amount of doors that would be opened for me because of this school, and I definitely didn’t expect to reconnect with one of my dearest writer friends to start up a podcast. Abbie & Abby began as a way to fill in internship hours and became a passion project that is so near and dear to my heart! And, yes, it is on pause currently as Abby and I get ready for our next steps, but we have plans, y’all. Things are happening.

This season has been such a blessing to me, both as a learning experience and as an exercise in resilience. And with some of the new opportunities on the horizon for me, I believe it’s going to be a blessing to my career and my creativity for years to come. The staff at Colorado Media School were so wonderfully supportive, and having them to keep me accountable and to encourage me forward in this season was such a blessing.

Good things are coming, y’all! And I am excited!
