Shockingly, in the midst of all the crazy in the last nine months, we have continued to make consistent progress on our house.
When? I don’t know. I do know I was out there at 5 AM a few times. And working until it got too dark to see a few other times.
I considered adding rough-in electrical to my resume for a while. Insulation. Radiant heat installation.
Is it relevant?
Probably not.
But I’m proud of it, dang it. And it’s gotta count for something.
Thankfully, I don’t have to add drywall installation to my resume. We’ve hired someone to do that chore. They started work on Tuesday, so Monday night, my husband and I—and my sister and her husband—went out to write scriptures on the framing.
You know, before it was all covered up and writing on the walls became one of those things that you have to tell your two-year-old NOT to do.
This particular scripture is on my office windowsill.
Yup. Yours truly gets a home office.
I may cry when I get to move in. I’m so ready to have a desk again.
We’ve got lots of pictures to come! Drywall is a huge change, AND a huge step toward moving in. Who knows? We may have a place to celebrate thanksgiving this year!
