Changing Times

This picture is still one of the most surreal moments of my life.

Such a crazy, memorable moment.

Thank you, by the way, to everyone who came! You made this event what it was.

I am settling into the more real, ordinary parts of my job now, and loving the peace and quiet to dream and imagine and develop the pitches I will be bringing to the team shortly.

Ordinary. Ha.

I am having so much fun, y’all. I can’t believe I get to come into work and dream up ideas for a show that I have loved since I was a little kid. What an amazing privilege.

But, with a significant portion of my waking hours now dedicated to Odyssey and the stories I’m telling there, other pieces of my life are having to shrink a little to accommodate.

Shrink. Not disappear.

Just to clarify.

I still – hope – to have a book coming out this October, and Abby and I have plans to resume recording for The Abbie and Abby Podcast in September. These projects are so, so important to me, and the last thing I want to do is drop them. So, instead of allowing myself to become so burnt out that things die, I am leaning back. Letting projects take longer than they normally would. Easing off the gas pedal. Posting less and with more intention. Loving what I have ahead of me, but allowing it to grow much, much slower than it might if it had my full attention.

I am here for the long term, y’all. Not the short sprint. I am determined.

The biggest change, for me, will be not working in the evenings or on the weekend. My baby boy and my husband are going to be my biggest priority once I reach home for the day, and if there is extra work to be done, it can get done during my lunch break.

We do still have to build our house.

From what I’ve heard.

So forgive my spotty presence! This blog will be my only social media priority, and I’ll try to keep y’all updated and share the projects that are ready to be shared. Including Timber and Tomb!

Until then, I love y’all! If anyone asks, I’m writing!
