Hobbies!

Want to hear something shocking?

I have hobbies again.

I know, right? Between school, working on the house, a new job, a two year old, and books coming out, I’d just about forgotten what hobbies were.

I mean, doing something just for the pure enjoyment of it? What’s that like??

But, thankfully, my life has slowed down since we’ve moved, and I have been able to sink back into a few of my obsessions.

Cross stitching, for instance.

This is my latest finished project. My mum gave it to me in hopes that I would stitch it for her, and I’ve been working on it in the corners of my life for the past few years.

She framed it with lace.

I’m completely in love.

I’ve got a new project in the works now that will be shared here eventually, when there’s actually something to see. But trust me. It’s gorgeous.

And complicated.

I can’t wait.

What kind of hobbies has 2025 brought your way? Tell me about them in the comments!

I have rediscovered embroidery and needlepoint, which I have used as a way of relaxing at various points in my life, when stress was high. Just recently I was invited to join a group making collages from copies of family, friends, artists, musicians and places that inspire us. My creation has been included in an exhibition which will open in the summer. I’m really feeling the collage vibe and plan to use old Christmas cards as the focus of my decorations this year.

I love that! Collages have always interested me, but I’ve only dared to attempt them a few times. That’s amazing that yours will be included in an exhibition! Congratulations!
